Lead Work

Lead is one of the most traditional and enduring roofing materials, used extensively across the UK for centuries. It remains the gold standard for weatherproofing at critical junctions, valleys, and flat areas of a roof. Properly installed lead work can last well over 100 years, making it one of the most cost-effective long-term roofing solutions available.

At New Roof Solutions, our team includes skilled lead workers who are experienced in all aspects of lead roofing. We install and repair lead flashing at chimney abutments, wall abutments, and dormer cheeks. We line roof valleys with code 4 or code 5 lead sheet, install lead cover flashings, back gutters, and parapet wall cappings. We also undertake flat lead roofing for small areas such as bay tops, porch roofs, and dormer roofs.

All our lead work is carried out in accordance with the Lead Sheet Association guidelines using milled lead sheet of the appropriate code and thickness. We use traditional bossing and welding techniques where required, and ensure all fixings and detailing allow for the natural thermal movement of the lead. This prevents the cracking and fatigue that is commonly seen in poorly installed lead work.
